Many are taking their much needed vacation time. Many are spending times with their friends and family. Everyone is creating new or reliving prior experiences.
Summer is a time where we reflect. It’s a time for those who design websites to look at the prior six months, reflect, and see how the next 6 months could change.
Why during the summer? Great question, because it seems as though most major redesigns take place during the summer.
Quite possibly it could be this inner desire where something needs to be done to show people coming back from their summer break that your brand, company, or organization is still cool or worth seeing again. Or it could be because there is simply no other time to think about your brand and website design as a whole.
All year long we do tasks that get us from one place to another and keep the money coming in and paying the bills. Throughout the year though there are gaps where focus is gathered outside this everyday type tasks.
We build. We adjust. And we reflect. I’d say that most of the time outside the everyday tasks designers build and adjust.
Reflecting takes time, new stress-free eyes, analyzing, and planning. Summer just might be the best time. The time where redesigns are being made because that is the point in the process of design most of us stand.
We’re merely in the middle of summer. Think about who has already made a redesign, who will have one soon, and who isn’t even thinking about one yet.
