Before After

Premium Pixels by Orman Clark has been busy.

The popularity for digital resource shops, markets, communities, or call it whatever you want to call them is at a high point. Premium Pixels started in 2010 and Orman’s focus on high quality work that had this sense of similar style and taste led him to and the pixels along the way up to fame.

As more and more people came to download these great pixels for their own usage and admiration, Themezilla was founded in May of this year. Themezilla is where Orman a few other talented people build even more great stuff for the web including Wordpress themes and plugins.

So, today focus was brought back over to Premium Pixels. Before was a not so elegant UX of downloading both new and old resources. Today, you create an account that is free and you can download anything and everything. I’d imagine this was for control and tracking purposes from a business standpoint. Other changes are:

  • The width is slightly narrowed that makes the viewing on a mobile device even nicer (no need to be responsive here)
  • Nice tiny buttons for easy liking and downloading on the featured images
  • Adapted to the style that is found on the new Themezilla
  • Other minor adjustments and rearrangements made that any pixel or design geek will notice

It’s clear that Premium Pixels is part of Themezilla even more now. While there were subtle adjustments and rearrangements made, it feels like a full redesign. Certainly a full redesign is different than a complete redesign.

This is what the design looked like. Here it is now.
